We never know from one moment to the next what could happen that could change our lives forever. We hear of tragedy every day. We sympathize with others and as awful as it sounds, quietly thank God it wasn't our loved ones. Maybe it's a form of subconscious denial but we tend to think that tragedy won't happen to us or those we love. But it can and when it does we suddenly become the 'someone else.'

In an attempt to take off extra weight, many people turn to over-the- counter diet pills. Diet pills are not regulated by the FDA and have been known to be dangerous and harmful. Most diet pills contains stimulants that can cause physical addiction. In addition to physical addictions if taking a diet pill leads to weight loss, you can also become psychologically addicted to the success of the pills.

It was still dark when my alarm went off. In those first moments of waking, all I could hear was the patter of rain on the window. That just made my bed all the more warm and cozy. I listened again and the rain gently continued; surely I could stay a little longer.

Then out of my gloom came the first tentative notes of a blackbird's song. Then some more notes, slightly stronger. The blackbird seemed to be testing for response.
